For Labor day I convinced the family to make the 3-1/2 hour trek to go to Lava hot springs and sit in the hot pools. I think they though I was absolutly crazy. We stayed in a little tiny motel, and sat in the pools for the afternoon. After dinner we went back and then everyone crashed. We took the long road home driving through Soda Springs, Bear lake and Cache Valley. We only wanted to get Rasberrys and Squeeky Cheese. We were not able to get either.
I had fun and am glad my family was patient. I loved being with them.
A place to read about my Adventures with My Sweet Wife, "My Three Son's" and my Mountian Running Adventures.
About Me
- mountainrunnermike
- I am a Husband to my beautiful sweet wife Vickie, and a Father to "My Three Sons" Cotton, Tristan, and Justus. One of my greatest strengths is running long distances. I am not fast, but I can go forever. My favorite surfaces are high incline altitudes loaded with rocks, ruts, scree. I have completed 7 Squaw Peak 50 miler ultramarathons, 2 Wasatch 100 ultramarathons, 1 Katcina Mosa 100k, one Ten Peaks Utah ultra of 32 miles and one Bonneville Shoreline Trail Marathon, and countless 8 hour training runs through the Wasatch Mountains. I did one road marathon and swore to never do one again. If it is not on dirt I don't touch it. I prefer snowshoeing in the winter for conditioning and will post some great pictures of the Wasatch mountains covered in snow this winter.

Are you talking about the armpit? Thanks for taking us, don't expect me to return, not even for the 3 piece chicken
i remember the trip well as a child.Too bad no squeaky cheese. That was a highlight as a child. I'm not sure about the hit springs. I just remember being grateful for surviving my siblings and their incessant need to drown each other.
WOW! That was a real surprise! I know how sad you must have been for the want of squeeky cheese. I did find a farmers market that gets them from Wisconsin but they lost the squeeky out of them. And the hot springs. The last time we went was when we lived in IF and dad passed out.
